Efforts Made to Minimize Possible Damage from Moisture and High Temperature

 Pyongyang, July 19 (KCNA) -- Agricultural workers in North Hwanghae Province of the DPRK are striving to minimize the possible damage from moisture in the rainy season and from high temperature.
Farms in the province have sprayed nutrient adjuvants and germicide on a regular basis so as to create favorable conditions for the growth of rice.
Enough oxygen is being supplied to soil through short watering and irrigation of manner of saturation.
Botanical chemicals are applied to enhance the resistance of crops to harmful insects. Efforts are also being concentrated on taking care of paddy and dry-field rice and maize.
Through paddy-field fish breeding and mud-snail organic farming, weeding efficiency and fertility of soil have been raised. Measures have been also taken to address factors which may have adverse effects on the grain yield.
Irrigation facilities are being repaired and maintained and other necessary steps are being taken. -0-
