Council of Representatives, Azerbaijani National Assembly secretariats hold remote meeting

Manama, Dec. 29 (BNA): The General Secretariat of the Council of Representatives held a remote meeting with the General Secretariat of the Azerbaijani Parliament.
The meeting was held under the directives of Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, and Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Azerbaijan (Milli Meclis).
The meeting aimed to follow up on the outcome of the official visit by Mohammed Ibrahim Al Sisi Al Buainain, Secretary-General of the Council of Representatives, to Azerbaijan last September. The visit reflected the interest of the General Secretariat of the National Assembly of the Republic of Azerbaijan in benefiting from electronic transformation projects, initiatives and programmes, as well as the use of artificial intelligence in parliamentary work implemented by the General Secretariat of the Council of Representatives.
The meeting also discussed mechanisms to integrate these systems to ensure the efficiency and sustainability of parliamentary processes in line with Bahrain Vision 2030.
Yahya Ali Al Mulla, Assistant Secretary-General for Committees, Sessions and Parliamentary Support, and Rustam Mahmudov, Deputy Chief Administrator of the Azerbaijan Parliament (Milli Meclis), reviewed the strategic visions of the two general secretaries.
The Bahraini side reviewed the vision of the Council of Representatives as a pioneering parliament contributing to comprehensive national development. It also reviewed advanced human resources systems, the Al Amthal system, and flexible work policies, with experts from both sides participating to exchange best practices in annual evaluation, staff performance and incentive systems.
The meeting also reviewed the digital programmes launched by the General Secretariat of the Council of Representatives, including its attainment of ISO 42001:2023 certification for artificial intelligence management systems, in addition to the development of electronic systems such as eMeeting++.
The Green Parliament initiative was also reviewed, through which the General Secretariat of the Council of Representatives obtained ISO 14001:2015 certification for environmental management systems.
Participants discussed sustainability projects, including the waste management system, the solar energy project, the green procurement policy, and the role of legislative councils in supporting sustainable development goals and climate action.
The Azerbaijani side commended the electronic projects and the use of artificial intelligence in parliamentary work, and expressed its interest in benefiting from these experiences. A presentation was delivered on the electronic minutes system used in sessions of the National Assembly of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Both sides agreed to continue cooperation through further coordination meetings, bilateral meetings and mutual visits.
