Malaysia And Pakistan Foreign Ministers Discuss Palestine Situation

HYDERABAD, July 31 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Foreign Minister Mohamad Hasan and Pakistan Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar discussed the situation in Palestine during a telephone conversation on Thursday.

"They exchanged views on regional and international developments, including Palestine and particularly the situation in East Jerusalem," Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a post on X.

Dar also reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to working closely with Malaysia in bilateral and multilateral matters.

The Pakistani foreign minister has recently engaged in telephone diplomacy with many of his counterparts from the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, as Jordan has proposed a meeting of Arab and Islamic countries to discuss the grave situation in Palestine amid Israeli attacks and the expansion of Zionist extremist violence.

On Thursday, Dar also spoke with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud to exchange views on regional and international issues, including recent developments in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandeb Strait.

“Both sides welcomed Jordan’s proposal to convene a meeting of Arab and Islamic countries to discuss the grave situation in Palestine, particularly East Jerusalem. They agreed to remain in close contact,” the ministry said in a separate post.
