Tunisia's Investment Agency Seeks To Attract Malaysian Companies

HYDERABAD, Aug 3 (Bernama) -- Tunisia's investment agency is keen to attract Malaysian companies by offering them support to tap into Arab and European markets.

According to Malaysian Ambassador to Algeria Rizany Irwan Muhamad Mazlan, who is accredited to Tunisia, the interest was conveyed by Tunisian Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA) general manager Jalel Tebib during a meeting held in Tunis, recently.

"I briefed FIPA on the growing interest of Malaysian conglomerates to explore trade and industrial partnerships in the region," Rizany told Bernama on Monday.

FIPA told the ambassador about Tunisia's investment framework, priority sectors, and competitive advantages due to the country's close links to the markets in North Africa, Europe, and Arab countries.

"We discussed potential joint investment promotion, exchange of market information, and trade missions comprising Malaysian and Tunisian private sector entities," the ambassador said.

Trade between Malaysia and Tunisia was valued at US$261 million in 2025.
