Shura Council Secretariat receives Jordanian Senate delegation

Manama, Jan. 7 (BNA): The General Secretariat of the Shura Council received a delegation from the General Secretariat of the Senate of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan over the past two days, as part of efforts to strengthen joint parliamentary cooperation between the two councils.
Karima Mohammed Al Abbasi, Secretary General of the Shura Council, emphasised the importance of enhancing cooperation and parliamentary collaboration.
The delegation was briefed on the Shura Council’s mandate and role within Bahrain’s legislative process, the functions of the General Secretariat, and the use of artificial intelligence technologies in parliamentary support and institutional and legislative performance development.
Presentations also covered the conduct of council sessions, preparation of electronic minutes, committee management, legislative monitoring processes, mechanisms for enhancing parliamentary work efficiency, and support programmes for members and staff.
The visit included a tour of the Council’s chamber to review its electronic and technological systems, as well as visits to several historical and cultural landmarks in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
