Memo on WLAR's program in Yemen discussed
SANA'A, July 19 (Saba) - Yemen, Al Awn
Foundation for Development and World Links discuss here on Sunday an understanding
memo on
World Links Arab Region (WLAR)'s program for teachers' professional development in
Yemen for 2009-2011.
This came in a meeting of Education Minister Abdul-Salam al-Jawfi with Executive
Director of Al Awn Foundation Adel Ba-Homid and WLAR's Chief Executive Officer Reem
Bsaiso.
The meeting discussed the advantages of the program in qualifying the teachers on
integrating the technology in education and developing communication skills as well
as
improving education outputs in the capital Sana'a and provinces of Aden and Hadramout.
Moreover, the meeting dealt with the financial and technical support presented by
Al Awn Foundation to the educational programs in Yemen including affording computer
labs
in a number of provinces in the country.
Al-Jawfi affirmed the importance of integrating the technology in education to
bridge the gap between the knowledge and the school actuality.
He valued the exerted efforts by Al Awn Foundation and WLAR for education.
It is supposed that the understanding memo will be signed next Monday between the
Education Ministry, Al Awn Foundation and WLAR.
