Bahrain chairs meeting of officials of international cooperation departments at GCC justice ministries

Riyadh, Aug. 12 (BNA): As part of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s presidency of the 46th session of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Counsellor Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Mujbil, Assistant Undersecretary for State Cases and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf, chaired the fourth 2026 meeting of officials of international cooperation and international relations departments.

The Kingdom’s delegation was represented by Mohammed Jamal Sultan, Director of the Legislative Affairs and International Cooperation Directorate at the Ministry, alongside representatives of international cooperation departments at the justice ministries of the GCC member states.

The meeting discussed issues related to strengthening judicial and legal cooperation and coordination among GCC countries, foremost of which was the policy for enhancing cooperation among the GCC justice ministries. The policy includes areas aimed at strengthening coordination and facilitating the exchange of expertise, experience and best practices in judicial and legal fields.

The meeting also discussed Bahrain’s initiative to establish electronic connectivity for requests related to judicial notices and notifications, with the aim of leveraging digital solutions to further develop judicial cooperation among GCC countries, as well as the draft unified rules for combating information technology crimes.
