Jeju Air to launch chartered services to Phuket
SEOUL, July 20 (Yonhap) -- Jeju Air Co., South Korea's biggest budget carrier,
plans to launch two passenger chartered flights to the Thai tourist resort of
Phuket with one flying from Incheon airport and the other from Gimhae airport,
the company said Monday.
It will operate a total of 18 flights from July 29 to August 26 on the
Incheon-Phuket route in a bid to capitalize on a rise in the number of summer
vacationers.
On the flight from the southeastern airport of Gimhae, the discount airliner will
run a total of 38 flights from Oct. 1 to Dec. 3. The route's inauguration is
intended to meet an expected rise in the number of newlyweds going on a honeymoon
trip to the Thai resort island.
The budget carrier also said it will expand weekly flight services to four on the
Incheon-Bangkok route starting Thursday, as the average load factor for the line
has reached 93 percent this month.
