Resistance Organizations Conducive to Sacred Cause of National Liberation
Pyongyang, August 14 (KCNA) -- The all-people resistance idea created and developed by President Kim Il Sung and the might of unity in which all the Korean people are firmly united as one were fully displayed in the days of the final decisive battle for national liberation.
Entering in 1943, the fascist states including Japan, which were trying to swallow the whole world at a go, were going downhill.
In July 1943 the President called a meeting of the chiefs of small units and groups of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army and underground revolutionary organizations at the Temporary Secret Base on Mt Kom and set forth concrete tasks and ways for forming armed organizations for all-people resistance in different parts of Korea.
After the meeting, an armed unit of workers and peasants for all-people resistance were formed at the Temporary Secret Base on Mt Kom and armed units were even organized in Pyongyang, South Phyongan Province, Hwanghae Province and other parts of the country, to say nothing of the northern part of Korea along the Tuman River including Rajin, Sonbong and Kyongwon.
On August 9, 1945, the armed resistance organizations across the country launched a vigorous struggle to harass the enemy's rear in response to the advance of the KPRA which started a general offensive in accordance with the President's order for a final offensive for national liberation.
The Rajin People's Armed Unit waged an offensive battle by its own efforts to liberate the city, and the armed resistance organizations in the Hoeryong area including the Kkachibong Armed Unit conducted active combat activities to take full control of the area.
The Kangson worker-peasant group and the Ryonghyon People's Armed Unit killed and captured many enemies and armed resistance organizations and resistance organizations active in Anju, Kaechon, Hwangju and other areas conducted fierce military activities.
The Haeju Anti-Imperialist League and the Suyangsan Armed Unit raided Haeju Airport to reduce the hidden fuel tanks to ashes and captured six planes, many weapons and ammunition.
Timed to coincide with the general offensive of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army, the all-people resistance organizations thoroughly smashed the enemy's ruling organs in different parts of the country. As a result, the Japanese imperialists' ruling system was rapidly destroyed and at last the Korean people greeted the day of national liberation on August 15, 1945. -0-
