US President Welcomes Signing of Makkah Joint Defence Agreement

Washington, August 17, 2026, SPA -- United States President Donald Trump welcomed the signing of the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Türkiye, and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, describing it as a big, bold, and important first step.
In a post on his Truth Social account, Trump said he was "very happy to see" the three countries sign the agreement, adding that it shows how the Middle East is coming together and how countries will be able to defend themselves more effectively.
Trump also congratulated the leaderships of the three countries on the agreement.
