Visit Malaysia 2026: MOTAC, MAG Strengthen Partnership To Attract More Tourists

PUTRAJAYA, Aug 21 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) and Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) are strengthening their strategic partnership to attract more international tourists to Malaysia and ensure the success of the Visit Malaysia Year 2026 (VM2026) campaign, which has been extended until next year.

According to a post on MOTAC’s Facebook page Friday, the matter was discussed during a meeting between Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Tiong King Sing and MAG Group president and chief executive officer Captain Nasaruddin A Bakar.

The ministry said the collaboration includes efforts to expand the airline’s network and international market reach, including in India, China and Europe, as well as explore new destinations such as Fukuoka.

MOTAC and MAG also discussed joint marketing and flight promotion strategies to boost demand and load factors during the low season.

In addition, both parties discussed efforts to support the domestic tourism ecosystem by increasing benefits for local industry players and enhancing the passenger experience through improvements to cabin facilities, services, in-flight catering and cabin crew training.

Closer cooperation between the government, the aviation industry and tourism players is expected to strengthen Malaysia’s competitiveness as a world-class destination while having a positive impact on the country’s economy and tourism industry, the post said.
