Transport Ministry names Kyrgyzstan's key road projects for 2026

Bishkek, Feb. 6, 2026. /Kabar/. Minister of Transport and Communications Absattar Syrgabaev announced that major projects are planned for the country's road sector this year.
According to him, one of the key projects will be the Barskoon-Bedel-Uch-Turfan road.
"This is the third corridor that will connect Kyrgyzstan with China. We will begin construction on this road. Furthermore, the goal has been set to complete the Balykchy-Barskoon-Karakol highway by August 31. A total of 8 billion soms will be required to complete this major project. 120-kilometer Naryn-Baetov road will also be built. The first layer of asphalt was previously laid on a section of approximately 30 kilometers. We plan to fully complete the road and commission it this year," the minister said.
Syrgabaev also noted the construction of the Northern Bypass Road of Bishkek.
"This will be the first category first road in the country. It will be six-lane, with overpasses. The main goal of building the bypass road is to eliminate traffic congestion within the city," he noted.
