Many Rural Dwellings Built in DPRK Last Year

 Pyongyang, February 6 (KCNA) -- More than 32 000 rural dwellings were built in different parts of the country last year thanks to the efforts of officials and workers out in implementing the Workers' Party of Korea's programme for the rural revolution in the new era. And over 700 rural villages witnessed house-moving.
The cosy dwellings with modernity, cultural refinement and diversity as well as regional characteristics and public and production buildings in rural areas are an epitome of the people-first politics of the WPK and a striking demonstration of the validity and vitality of its programme for the rural revolution in the new era.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un set the rural housing construction as a major strategic plan, which the WPK attaches top priority to and which should be carried out, and clearly indicated the orientation and ways for the construction project.
Officials of the central headquarters for rural construction and every province, city and county conducted frontline-style political work at construction sites, rousing the masses to implement the Party's policies.
Measures were taken to produce various kinds of materials by boosting the ties with building-materials production units and to preferentially supply cement to Ryanggang and North Hamgyong provinces and Rason Municipality with a short period for construction.
The central and local design institutes completed the designs of rural dwellings convenient to the farmers' living while preserving the features and distinctive landscape of the relevant regions, and officials and workers of the Ministry of Railways carried freights to construction sites.
Material and technical foundations for the rural housing construction were strengthened in provinces, cities and counties.
Dozens of cities, counties and districts, including Tanchon City, Unsan County, Jongju City, Rangnang District, Mangyongdae District, Songnim City, Manpho City, Hoeryong City, Kangso District and Anju City, strengthened their construction workforces with skilled workers to speed up the housing construction.
South Hwanghae Province organized a provincial exhibition of finishing building materials to generalize the experience of advanced units and, at the same time, built a new base for producing building materials on its own and increased scientific and technological capabilities, thus making progress in diversifying building materials.
South Phyongan Province supplied quality building materials to cities and counties by strengthening building-materials production bases and taking measures to supply equipment and materials. North Phyongan and North Hwanghae provinces set stepwise goals for self-sufficiency in finishing building materials and carried them out.
Low- and single-storied and terraced dwelling houses of different forms were built in Mangyongdae, Ryokpho, Sadong, Samsok and Sunan districts and Kangdong County of Pyongyang Municipality to promote the convenience of farmers in their living.
Officials and builders in South Hamgyong and South Phyongan provinces completed the foundation, frame and roofing projects of thousands of houses and raised the level of specialization in different processes, thus making progress in implementing the Party's policies.
Nampho Municipality, North and South Hwanghae provinces, and Kangwon Province built dwelling houses of various styles with the characteristics of coastal, plain and mountainous areas and planted trees and flower shrubs of good species around them to preserve sentiments peculiar to the countryside.
The Tapsang Farm in Unsan County, the Taechong Farm in Unpha County and other farms displayed mosaic murals depicting the benevolent image of Kim Jong Un and built modern houses as well as production and public buildings to create a new scenery of cultural countryside.
Witnessing such grand transformation in the countryside, the agricultural workers across the country keenly realize how the WPK's desire is translated into a brilliant reality. -0-
