Landscaping in Samjiyon City

 Pyongyang, August 24 (KCNA) -- Landscaping gets brisk in Samjiyon City of the DPRK.
The city drew up a stepwise greening plan and organized a show of technical issues arising in the cultivation and management of planted trees, while ensuring that the city horticultural station and tree nurseries produce good species of saplings.
The Samjiyon Blueberry Drink Factory, the Samjiyon Potato Farina Production Factory, the Samjiyon Soybean Paste Factory and other factories have taken good care of trees, flower shrubs and turfs of good species to turn the compound into a forest and park.
Ikal Hotel, Potnamu Hotel and other units arranged flowering plants in a fashionable way to beautify buildings and set up peculiar flower beds and flowerpot stands.
The citizens of Potnamu and Ikal dongs strive to improve the appearance of the mountainous cultural city by creating flower beds in streets, parks, playgrounds and resting places and planting cosmos, calendula officinalis and other flowers through a socialist emulation among dongs and neighborhood units.
The landscaped children's traffic park and sports park attract many visitors for their botanical decorations and elegant natural beauty suited to the surroundings.
The city continues to direct great efforts to the cultivation of trees of high ornamental value adapted to the climatic and soil conditions of the Mt Paektu area in tree nurseries. -0-
