Finance Minister receives UNIDO Director General

Manama, Feb. 11 (BNA): Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, received Gerd Müller, Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), during his visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain to participate in the World Entrepreneurs and Investment Forum (WEIF) 2026.
The Minister emphasised the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening cooperation and partnership with specialised international organisations, highlighting the important role undertaken by UNIDO.
Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa noted that the forum serves as a platform that contributes to fostering partnerships and exchanging ideas, visions, and experiences in sustainable industrial development.
The meeting also reviewed efforts to enhance cooperation in the areas of sustainable industrial development, as well as supporting innovation and entrepreneurship, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The meeting was attended by Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development and Chief Executive of the Economic Development Board (Bahrain EDB); Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education; Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce; Osama bin Saleh Al Alawi, Minister of Social Development; and a number of officials.
