Crown Prince Camel Festival's Second Category Opens, Saudi Camels Take Eight Wins

   Taif, September 07, 2026, SPA -- Saudi camels dominated the opening of the Laqaya category in the eighth edition of the Crown Prince Camel Festival 2026, winning eight out of 14 rounds, with 531 camels competing on the Taif Camel Racing Track.
   Qatari camels placed second with three victories, while Oman, the UAE, and Kuwait each recorded one win. The Laqaya category carries total prize money of SAR10.850 million.
   The Laqaya category is the second age group participating in the festival. It includes 64 rounds over a distance of four kilometers per round, concluding Tuesday with six Crown Prince Festival Cup rounds worth SAR5.7 million.
   The festival, organized by Saudi Camel Sports, runs until September 13 with total cash prizes exceeding SAR50 million.
