14 Astronomical Phenomena Adorn Skies of Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Reserve

Rafha, September 7, 2026, SPA -- The skies of Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Reserve will feature 14 diverse astronomical phenomena throughout September 2026, including conjunctions of the Moon with planets and stars, lunar phases, the autumnal equinox, and Neptune at opposition, in a series of celestial events that enhance the reserve's status as a destination for astronomical observation and astrophotography, particularly at the "Dark Sky" site in the Great Nafud Desert.
In the second half of the month, the reserve's skies will witness the autumnal equinox on September 23, followed by Neptune at opposition on September 26. On September 27, the Moon will be in conjunction with Saturn as the full Moon occurs, while the month's astronomical phenomena will conclude with the Moon-Pleiades conjunction on September 30.
The Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Reserve provides a favorable environment for astronomical observation, benefiting from its vast area and low levels of light pollution in several locations, allowing celestial bodies and phenomena to be viewed with greater clarity and supporting astrophotography and space-science activities.
