Kyrgyzstan, OSCE hold talks on conducting survey in mountainous regions

Bishkek, Feb. 20, 2026 /Kabar/. Dinara Kemelova, Special Representative of Kyrgyz President for the Mountain Agenda, met with Volker Frobarth, OSCE head in Bishkek. According to Presidential administration, during the meeting, plans for cooperation for the current year and joint events on the mountain agenda in Kyrgyzstan's regions were discussed.

Particular attention was paid to the discussion of issues related to conducting a comprehensive survey of Kyrgyzstan's mountainous regions, digitalizing data, strengthening scientific potential, and coordinating joint activities within the framework of the Five Years of Action for Mountain Development in 2026, including the Second Bishkek Global Mountain Summit in October 2027.

At the end of the meeting, Dinara Kemelova and Volker Frobarth reaffirmed their collaboration priorities and emphasized the importance of institutionalizing mountain issues in global climate processes.
