Jeddah Gears Up for Khaleeji 27, Bringing Football, Heritage and Tourism Together

   Jeddah, September 9, 2026, SPA -- Jeddah is preparing to welcome Gulf national teams and fans as the 27th edition of the Arabian Gulf Cup, "Khaleeji 27," draws closer.
   Saudi Arabia will host the tournament from September 23 to October 6, with eight national teams taking part in a competition that combines football with the cultural and tourism experiences of Jeddah -"the Bride of the Red Sea."
   The tournament will allow visiting fans to explore the city's diverse attractions alongside the matches. The city brings together its long history on the Red Sea coast with a vibrant modern character, offering visitors a wide range of cultural and entertainment experiences.
   At the forefront of these destinations is Historic Jeddah, known as Al-Balad, which reflects the city's distinctive heritage through its narrow alleyways, traditional houses, ornate rawasheen, and historic markets.
   The area is set to be a cultural and tourism highlight for Gulf fans, particularly as it has already featured in the tournament's preparations, hosting the official Khaleeji 27 draw ceremony in May.
   Jeddah Waterfront is another major attraction, offering a variety of entertainment venues, restaurants and cafés. The city's rich cultural and heritage diversity has also helped cement its position as one of Saudi Arabia's leading tourism destinations.
   The tournament evokes the special place the Arabian Gulf Cup holds in fans' collective memory across the region.
