Malaysia Condemns Calls For Forced Displacement Of Palestinians From Gaza
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 10 (Bernama) -- Malaysia strongly condemns recent calls by officials of the Zionist Israeli regime for the forced displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip and brutal and systematic violence perpetrated by Zionist settlers.
In a statement, Malaysia’s Foreign Ministry said this includes violence perpetrated by Zionist settlers against Palestinians in the Occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem.
“Malaysia categorically rejects any attempt to forcibly displace or resettle Palestinians from their homeland.
“The killing, intimidation, destruction of property and forced displacement of Palestinians by Zionist settlers, perpetrated with impunity, are abhorrent acts that constitute serious violations of international law and international humanitarian law,” it said.
Such acts further entrench the occupation, facilitate the systematic expansion of illegal Zionist settlements and the seizure of Palestinian land, it added.
Malaysia stresses that the Gaza Strip is an integral part of the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT) and rejects any attempt to alter its demographic or geographic character.
“Malaysia similarly rejects efforts to dispossess Palestinians from the Occupied West Bank through settlement expansion and settler violence,” it said.
Malaysia also called on the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), to take concrete action to end these violations, ensure accountability and protect the Palestinian people.
It stated that Malaysia reaffirms its unwavering support for the Palestinian people’s right to remain on their land and to establish an independent and sovereign State of Palestine based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
