KOTRA to operate special booth at MWC to showcase Korea's tech prowess

SEOUL, Feb. 24 (Yonhap) -- The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) will operate a special booth for Korean companies at the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) to help them showcase their cutting-edge technologies in artificial intelligence (AI), robotics and other areas, agency officials said Tuesday.
The Korea Pavilion will feature 131 Korean companies, including various startups specializing in AI, virtual reality, robotics, wireless communications, semiconductor and other technologies, at the MWC, set to take place in Barcelona, Spain, throughout next week, according to KOTRA.
Major Korea tech firms, including Samsung Electronics Co., SK Telecom Co., KT Corp. and LG Uplus Corp., are also scheduled to attend the event.
MWC is one of the world's largest ICT shows, with attendance of some 2,900 companies from 205 countries planned for this year's event, themed "The IQ Era."
KOTRA said it will also hold a business pitching event for Korean startups to help them attract investment and explore business opportunities in global markets.
