Iran savate team wins two bronze medals at world championships

Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s national savate team has won two bronze medals at the 2026 World Championships in France.

The tournament was held in Boulogne from September 9 to 12, bringing together athletes from 45 countries.

Known as French boxing, Savate is a dynamic hybrid martial art. This full-contact combat sport strikes a unique balance, blending the precision of Western boxing with a diverse repertoire of kicking techniques.

Mohammad-Hossein Fallah claimed bronze in the under-70kg category after victories over opponents from Hong Kong, Germany, Italy, and Senegal before losing to a French fighter in the semifinals.

Farzam Fallah also secured bronze in the under-75kg category, defeating athletes from Japan, Germany, and Hungary before falling to French world champion Aiden Garcia in the semifinals.
