Iran, Cuba discuss ways to expand health cooperation

Tehran, IRNA – The director general for international cooperation at Iran’s Ministry of Health and Cuba’s ambassador to Tehran discussed ways to expand bilateral cooperation in the health, pharmaceutical, and medical equipment sectors.

During the meeting, Mohammad Hossein Ayati expressed gratitude for Cuba’s efforts and cooperation in urgently supplying Iran’s need for meningitis vaccines.

Nicolas Lefebvre, for his part, said his country is ready to send specialists to Iran to complete joint projects and cooperate in the reconstruction of the Pasteur Institute of Iran, which was damaged during the recent war.

The two sides also discussed ways to expand cooperation in technology transfer and the production of various vaccines, including hepatitis, COVID-19, and pneumococcal vaccines.
