Seventh WPK Congress Recorded in History of Korean Revolution

 Pyongyang, February 26 (KCNA) -- The 30-odd years from the Sixth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea to its Seventh Congress were the days of grim struggle and at the same time the years of glorious victory for our Party and people.
In the unprecedented period of stern trials when our Republic was the focus of the anti-socialist offensive of the imperialist allied forces, the Party and the people were forced to fight alone against the imperialist allied forces.
Thanks to the wise leadership of the outstanding leader and the might of the single-minded unity of the Party, the people and the army centered on the leader, our country could frustrate the imperialist allied forces' moves to stifle it, defend the gains of the revolution to the last and win proud victories.
The Seventh Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea was held in Pyongyang with splendor from May 6 to 9, 2016 as a significant one in the new era of the Juche revolution.
In his report on the work of the Party Central Committee at the congress, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un comprehensively analyzed and reviewed the proud successes and experience gained by the WPK in the revolution and construction under the banner of the Juche idea and the Songun-based revolutionary line in the face of upheavals of history and set forth important tasks for accomplishing the socialist cause of Juche, realizing  the cause of global independence and bringing about a fresh turn in the development of the Party and its work under the banner of great Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism.
The congress discussed and decided the five-year strategy for national economic development (2016-2020).
The Seventh Congress of the WPK was the one of victors and glory which laid a firm foundation for accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche and set a new milestone for completing the socialist cause. It was also the historic congress that powerfully demonstrated the invincible might of the Party which is firmly carrying forward the independent revolutionary line and mode of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il, holding in high esteem the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un, and set forth the grand goals and fighting programme for building a powerful socialist country. -0-
