Hana Bank raises 140 mln euros in syndicated loan

SEOUL, July 21 (Yonhap) -- Hana Bank, South Korea's fourth-largest lender, said
Tuesday it has raised 140 million euros (US$199 million) in a syndicated loan
amid an easing of the global financial turmoil.
The lender said the loan, which matures in one year, carries an interest rate of
the three-month Euro Interbank Offered Rate plus 2 percentage points.
The bank said it borrowed from seven financial firms in four countries, without
revealing further details.
Hana Bank raised $1 billion by selling government-guaranteed bonds in April,
becoming the first local lender to tap into a state debt guarantee program.
