Malaysia Day In Paris Showcases Unity, Closer Ties With France
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 21 (Bernama) -- Malaysia showcased its patriotism, national unity and cultural heritage in Paris as it marked its 63rd Malaysia Day while reaffirming its commitment to strengthening ties with France.
Against the backdrop of the celebration, Malaysia’s Ambassador to France Eldeen Husaini Mohd Hashim said the occasion was not only a time to reflect on the nation’s formation but also “a manifestation of the spirit of unity and harmony that forms the foundation of Malaysia’s strength in remaining a peaceful, stable and prosperous nation”.
“Malaysia continues to demonstrate economic resilience while strengthening its position as an open, progressive and competitive country,” he said at the celebration on Sept 18, according to a statement from the Malaysian Embassy in France.
Looking to the future, Eldeen Husaini said Malaysia could capitalise on the rapid growth of artificial intelligence (AI), particularly in the semiconductor sector, as it builds on its economic performance.
He said every segment of society had a role to play in ensuring the country continued to grow in an inclusive, sustainable and prosperous manner in line with the aspirations of Malaysia MADANI.
Turning to Malaysia-France relations, Eldeen Husaini stressed the importance of active engagement with French government authorities, business communities, politicians, media representatives and content creators through forums and events to further strengthen bilateral ties and deepen cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
The celebration was attended by Malaysia’s Deputy Home Minister Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah, Selangor State Executive Councillor for Investment, Trade and Mobility Ng Sze Han, representatives of the French government and institutions, members of the diplomatic corps, social media influencers and the Malaysian diaspora.
Adding a culinary dimension to the celebration, the embassy also launched the Malaysia Culinary Heritage Cookbook, an e-book featuring 14 recipes representing Malaysia’s culinary diversity.
