Foreign Minister chairs GCC Ministerial Council Coordination meeting in New York

New York, Sep. 21 (BNA): The GCC Ministerial Council Coordination Meeting was held at the Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations in New York, on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The meeting was chaired by Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the current session of the GCC Ministerial Council, with the participation of GCC Foreign Ministers, and Mr. Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

The Foreign Ministers reviewed the items on the meeting’s agenda, as well as issues scheduled to be addressed during the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly and the joint GCC ministerial meetings with a number of countries and international groupings.

They also reviewed the latest regional developments and their implications for security and stability in the region, as well as areas of joint cooperation and coordination in addressing current challenges.

The meeting was attended by Ambassador Jamal Faris Al Rowai, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations in New York; Ambassador Shaikh Abdullah bin Ali Al Khalifa, Director-General of Bilateral Relations; Ambassador Saeed Abdulkhaliq Saeed, Chief of the Coordination and Follow-up Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and the accompanying delegation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
