Foreign Minister meets Korean counterpart

New York, Sep. 21 (BNA): Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Cho Hyun, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, at the Korean Mission in New York, on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The two ministers discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Korea and further develop its areas in a manner that serves their shared interests and objectives, as the two countries mark 50 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations. They also discussed a number of issues related to bilateral relations and coordination between the two countries at international forums.

The meeting also addressed current regional and international developments, as well as international efforts to restore maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and Bab Al Mandab and maintain regional security and stability.

The meeting was attended by Ambassador Jamal Faris Al Rowai, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations in New York; Ambassador Shaikh Abdullah bin Ali Al Khalifa, Director-General of Bilateral Relations; Ambassador Saeed Abdulkhaliq Saeed, Chief of the Coordination and Follow-up Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and the accompanying delegation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
