Historic Emirate Palace in Najran: Landmark Witness to Stages of Saudi Arabia's Founding

   Najran, September 21, 2026, SPA -- Saudi National Day renews the occasion to recall historic national landmarks bearing witness to the Kingdom's long journey of development, among them the Historic Emirate Palace in Najran, a national monument and one of the region's most notable architectural symbols that stands as a chapter in the story of the Kingdom's founding and unification.
   The palace, built in 1363 AH (1944), is located in the heart of the old city of Aba Al-Saud, covering an area of 625 square meters. It consists of three floors containing a number of rooms and facilities, an old well, circular towers at its four corners, and watchtowers. It served as the headquarters of the principality and a number of government departments at the time, during a period that witnessed administrative and development transformations in Najran as part of the establishment of the Saudi state.
   The design of the Historic Emirate Palace took into consideration Najran's authentic architectural character. It was built of mud, stone, and palm trunks, embodying the region's rich heritage and preserving its cultural identity.
