KFUPM Secures First Place in International Student Unmanned Aerial Systems Competition 2026

   Tulsa, September 22, 2026, SPA -- King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) secured first place in the international Student Unmanned Aerial Systems Competition (SUAS 2026), held from September 14 to 17 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States. The achievement marks the university's second title after winning the 2024 edition.
   KFUPM's multidisciplinary team topped a field of 64 teams and also won first place in the MathWorks Simulation Awards under the Sponsor Awards category, in recognition of its technical excellence.
   The event is a specialized international university competition focusing on unmanned aerial vehicles and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.
   This year's edition brought together more than 50 educational institutions from 10 countries. Participants included Cornell University, the University of Michigan, the University of Illinois, the University of California, Irvine, and Warsaw University of Technology.
