FIRST IMAGE FROM RAZAKSAT RECORDED
SEPANG, July 21 (Bernama) -- The first image from the RazakSAT satellite,
which was launched in Guam on July 14, was successfully recorded at 4 pm
(Malaysian time) Monday.
Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovations Fadillah Yusof said
the satellite was expected to record better images within the next three months
through a camera familiarisation process and remote control equipment for more
effective communication.
The RazakSAT was capable of orbiting the equator 14 times daily with six
good image recordings, he said at a press conference in conjunction with the
return of the RazakSAT team from Guam and Kwajalein at the KL International
Airport, here Monday night.
Fadillah said the launching of the satellite had achieved the orbiting
target and at the same time proved the capability of the National Space Centre
in controlling fully RazakSAT.
