Foreign Ministers Of Iraq And Iran Emphasize The Importance Of Maintaining Security Along Their Shared Border

BAGHDAD / NINA /-Iraqi Foreign Minister, Fuad Hussein and his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation and securing their shared border during a meeting held Tuesday evening on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meetings in New York.

According to Iran’s Tasnim International News Agency, the two sides reviewed the progress made in bilateral cooperation across several areas, including economic, trade, consular, and security affairs. They also stressed the importance of continuing efforts to further develop relations in all areas of mutual interest.

Araghchi and Hussein emphasized the importance of maintaining security along their shared border, stressing the need to implement the agreements concluded between the two countries in this regard and to effectively counter terrorist activities./End
