S. Korea continues to log trade surplus in July
SEOUL, July 21 (Yonhap) -- South Korea continued to post a trade surplus this
month as imports declined sharper than exports amid an economic slowdown, data
showed Tuesday.
According to the data by the Korea Customs Service, South Korea's trade surplus
amounted to US$94 million during the first 20 days of this month.
During the cited period, exports dropped 21.6 percent to $18.31 billion while
imports plunged 33.5 percent to $18.22 billion.
Based on the data, South Korea's trade surplus has increased to US$21.19 billion
this year.
