Improvements in Electric Power Industry

 Pyongyang, September 24 (KCNA) -- The Electric Power Information Institute under the Ministry of Electric Power Industry in the DPRK has made valuable achievements.
Its scientists and researchers made contributions to ensuring the completion of the first-stage Tanchon Power Station construction project by technically perfecting the integrated control system for the hydropower plants No. 1, No. 5 and No. 6 and conducting its trial operation.
They resolved the problems arising in the operation of the real-time flow measurement system and set it up at Jangjingang, Pujongang and Sodusu power stations, thus providing a sci-tech guarantee for increasing the overall efficiency of the power plants.
An integrated control system of hydraulic power plants, established at the Hoeyang Army-People Power Station, makes it possible to properly operate generators, according to their technical characteristics and the quantity of water, and ensure their high-efficiency running. Trial operation of the virtual physical production system has been successfully conducted to make progress in putting the operation of power plants on an intelligent footing.
They also attached data concentrators to scores of pole type transformers in relevant regions and set up a system for monitoring, controlling and tackling the power consumption of factories and enterprises in real time, thus opening up a good prospect for putting control of the electricity grid, planning of the electricity supply and organization of alternated production on a scientific basis. -0-
