Saudi Team Participates in International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics in Vietnam

   Riyadh, September 27, 2026, SPA -- The Saudi astronomy and astrophysics team is participating in the 19th International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA 2026), hosted in Hanoi, Vietnam, from September 25 to October 5, alongside students from more than 60 countries.
   The Kingdom is represented by five students who underwent intensive preparation through specialized training programs and camps.
   Saudi Arabia began participating in the Olympiad in 2024 and has won six international awards across its two previous participations: one silver medal, three bronze medals, and two certificates of appreciation.
   The Olympiad assesses theoretical and practical skills through astronomy problems, celestial observations, data analysis, and simulation software.
