Pezeshkian opens 246 tourism projects worth 350 trillion rials

Tehran, IRNA – President Masoud Pezeshkian on Sunday inaugurated 246 tourism projects with a total investment of 350 trillion rials and expected to create 3,200 jobs.

The projects were launched online as Iran marked the beginning of Tourism Week, with Pezeshkian emphasizing the importance of developing the country’s tourism sector and expanding cultural and tourism cooperation with neighboring states.

He said closer ties with neighboring countries were particularly important in the face of restrictions imposed on Iran by the United States, describing the neighbors as an important capacity for the country’s development.

Pezeshkian said expanding cultural, tourism and trade interactions with neighboring countries could help Iran on the path of development and prosperity.

During the ceremony, he also highlighted Iran’s historical heritage, saying the country has around one million historical sites, 43,000 of which have been registered.

Highlighting Iran’s longstanding civilization, the president said the United States would “dream of erasing, destroying and overthrowing Iran,” stressing that the Iranian people would overcome all obstacles through strength and determination.
