Efforts to Develop Building Materials with Serpentine Brisk in DPRK

 Pyongyang, September 28 (KCNA) -- Various units across the DPRK are making brisk efforts to develop and produce building materials with serpentine, a natural stone.
The serpentine with a clear color and pattern is used in making decoration and finishing building materials. It is abundant in various parts of the country.
The Taesongsan Furniture Factory developed various kinds of building materials, including a kneehole desk and dining table, with serpentine, and presented them to the National Exhibition of Sci-tech Achievements in the Field of Furniture and Finishing Building Materials-2026 held in August.
The products made by the factory drew the attention of visitors for their good and fresh appearance and convenience of use.
A factory under the Ministry of Construction and Building-Materials Industry developed and produced various kinds of building materials including serpentine rail and tile, furniture like round table and chair, and decorative items. They were highly estimated at various exhibitions.
Building materials production units in Tanchon City, Sinhung County and Toksong County of South Hamgyong Province are sending quality serpentine-processed products to the construction sites of rural houses.
South Hwanghae Province is using the stone products developed by the Haeju Aeguk Stone Dressing Plant and various counties in building structures of the city and counties.
Myongchon County in North Hamgyong Province newly built a stone processing base and is striving to develop various kinds of stone products including artificial marble by using serpentine. -0-
