Reyhaneh Karimi made history on September 27, 2026, at the 2026 Asian Games, becoming the first Iranian woman ever to win a medal at the Asian Games.

Competing in the 77 kg weightlifting category, she lifted a total of 243 kg to claim bronze, a landmark achievement for Iranian women's sport.
