Scientific Conference in Madinah Highlights Role of Research Institutions, Educational Centers in Addressing Intellectual Deviations

   Madinah, September 28, 2026, SPA -- The second-day sessions of the "International Conference on Saudi Arabia's Efforts to Counter Intellectual Deviations," organized by the Islamic University of Madinah, were held today with the participation of specialized researchers and academics from the Kingdom and abroad.
   The conference's fourth session discussed the impact of the Holy Quran in addressing intellectual deviations and Saudi Arabia's role in this regard. Papers and research presented during the session addressed intellectual deviation from the perspective of Islamic Sharia, the impact of correcting concepts, preventive approaches to combating intellectual deviation in minority communities, and Saudi Arabia's experience in addressing intellectual deviation.
   Participants in the fifth session discussed the role of research institutions and educational centers in addressing intellectual deviations. They also reviewed the efforts of the Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) in promoting moderation and centrism, the efforts of security authorities to counter intellectual deviations, and the efforts of Saudi institutions to promote moderation and centrism. The session also addressed the role of Islamic centers in countering intellectual deviations.
   The sixth session reviewed the efforts of the National Center for Mental Health Promotion in preventing intellectual deviations, as well as the importance of psychological and intellectual interventions in addressing such deviations.
   The conference features 56 peer-reviewed scientific papers presented across nine sessions, with the participation of senior officials, representatives of fatwa centers and institutions in Islamic countries, and researchers and specialists from the Kingdom and abroad.
