Tehran, Moscow stress readiness to expand legal and judicial cooperation

Tehran, IRNA – Iran and Russia have stressed their readiness to expand legal and judicial cooperation, including the exchange of experience in using modern technologies in judicial proceedings.

Iranian Prosecutor General Mohammad Movahedi Azad made the remarks during a meeting with Igor Krasnov, Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, in Moscow on Tuesday.

Movahedi Azad, who is in Russia to attend a gathering of prosecutors general of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, expressed appreciation for the support and sympathy extended by the Russian government and people, particularly senior political and legal officials, toward Iran during the recent US-Israeli war on the country.

He also announced Iran’s readiness to exchange experience with Russia in the use of modern technologies in judicial proceedings and courts with the aim of safeguarding public rights.

The two sides underlined the need to develop and expand judicial cooperation between Tehran and Moscow.

Krasnov, referring to the growing relations between the two countries in political fields and meetings between their presidents, said legal consultations could serve as a factor consolidating bilateral ties.
