German Delegation To Connect Waste Technology Providers With Malaysian Stakeholders - MGCC
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 30 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MGCC) is hosting a five-day delegation of seven German waste management and recycling technology providers in Malaysia.
The programme, held from Sept 28 to Oct 2, aims to give Malaysian businesses direct access to German solutions in waste collection, sorting, recycling and material recovery, while supporting Malaysia’s transition from a landfill-dependent system towards a more regulated, technology-driven circular economy.
In a statement on Wednesday, MGCC executive director Hannes Farlock said Malaysia had set a clear direction to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills and recover more value from waste.
“Getting there takes more than policy; it takes the right technology, adapted to local conditions, and backed by partners committed for the long term.
“German companies bring decades of experience in exactly that. Through this delegation, we want Malaysian businesses and authorities to meet these solution providers face to face, test ideas against real needs and build partnerships that last well beyond this week,” he said.
MGCC said the programme features a conference and business networking session, where the German companies will present their technologies to an expected audience of about 100 participants from Malaysia’s public and private sectors, followed by individually arranged business-to-business (B2B) meetings matched to each participant’s business objectives.
It said the delegation comprises Eggersmann GmbH, Flottweg SE, Naue GmbH & Co. KG, Recco Deutschland GmbH, Tholander Ablufttechnik GmbH, Tomra Sorting GmbH and Westeria Fördertechnik GmbH.
“Their expertise spans mobile shredding and screening machinery, mechanical separation technology, geosynthetics for environmental and infrastructure engineering, non-ferrous metal recovery from incinerator bottom ash, exhaust air purification, sensor-based sorting, and recycling and material handling equipment,” it said.
The delegation will also meet key public-sector stakeholders, including the National Solid Waste Management Department, the Solid Waste Management and Public Cleansing Corporation, URBANICE Malaysia and Subang Jaya City Council (Local City Council in the State of Selangor).
The business initiation trip is organised by MGCC in cooperation with SBS systems for business solutions GmbH, on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, as part of its Market Development Programme for small and medium enterprises and Export Initiative Environmental Technologies.
