Over 30,000 Residents Stranded in Kheha Romklao as Severe Flooding Persists for Nearly a Week

BANGKOK, Oct 1 (TNA) - The flooding situation at Kheha Romklao, a high-density public housing estate in Eastern Bangkok, remains severe, leaving around 30,000 residents across 10,000 households stranded in water levels exceeding one meter deep for nearly a week.

With floodwaters receding by only a few centimeters a day, the community is facing severe hardship from cut-off electricity and tap water, alongside critical shortages of drinking water, medical supplies, and basic necessities like diapers and sanitary pads. Although relief efforts have begun at the edge of the estate, aid supplies often run out before reaching those living deeper inside.

As a result, families—including pregnant women and those with small children—are forced to row boats through deep waters for hours just to buy fresh food and clean water on their own. - 819 (TNA)
