Saudi Arabia Participates in 29th IFAHR General Assembly

Riyadh, October 4, 2026, SPA -- CEO of the Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia Prince Salman bin Abdullah bin Salman bin Mohammed Al Saud, accompanied by the club's executive team, participated on Saturday in the 29th General Assembly of the International Federation of Arabian Horse Racing Authorities (IFAHR), held in Paris, France.
The General Assembly discussed a number of topics related to Arabian horse racing, including ways to strengthen cooperation and coordination among member countries and organizations and further develop the sport and its international presence.
During the IFAHR General Assembly, two races on the Riyadh Racing Season calendar received international upgrades. The Imam Turki bin Abdullah Sword was upgraded from Group 3 to Group 2, while the Princess Noura bint Abdulrahman bin Faisal Cup was upgraded from Listed status to Group 3.
Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia spokesperson Faisal Al-Atawi said: "The international upgrade of the two races marks an important development for Arabian horse racing in Saudi Arabia and reflects its advanced organizational and technical standards, while enhancing the season's competitiveness and strengthening the global presence of Arabian horse racing in Saudi Arabia."
