   Public beaches welcome visitors from all segments of society, while the Saudi Red Sea Authority licenses beach operators and coastal tourism activity providers to enhance service quality and visitor safety.
   A Jeddah Municipality official responsible for coastal monitoring and protection, Captain Thamer Nahas, confirmed that the municipality conducts regular inspection tours along the waterfront to prevent illegal discharges and protect coastal water quality, including coordination with relevant authorities to designate separate zones for water sports and swimming areas.
   Designated swimming beaches feature monitoring posts and rescue towers staffed by qualified lifeguards from sunrise to sunset. A plan is also underway to develop free public beaches equipped with essential services, with sites approved based on hydrodynamic studies to ensure calm waves, safe currents, and easy accessibility.
