King Abdullah Medical City in Makkah Reaches 30 Successful Robotic Cardiac Surgeries

Makkah, October 05, 2026, SPA -- King Abdullah Medical City (KAMC), a member of the Makkah Health Cluster, has completed 30 successful robotic cardiac surgeries, marking a major milestone in advanced minimally invasive cardiac care.
The cardiac surgical team highlighted the milestone by successfully performing three high-complexity robotic procedures within 48 hours.
The cases included a patient with multivessel coronary artery disease presenting a critical 99% stenosis in the Left Anterior Descending (LAD) artery, and a second patient who underwent robotic-assisted mitral valve replacement with a mechanical prosthesis. The team also conducted robotic-assisted coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) on a patient admitted following an acute myocardial infarction complicated by heart failure.
Executing three complex robotic interventions within a 48-hour window underscores KAMC's clinical readiness and seamless coordination across cardiac surgery, cardiac anesthesia, intensive care, specialized nursing, rehabilitation, and support services.
The achievement reflects KAMC’s ongoing strategy to localize cutting-edge surgical technologies and expand robotic-assisted cardiac procedures, advancing the quality and safety of specialized healthcare in Makkah.
