Thailand to Host IMF-World Bank Leaders with Cultural Showcase and Musical Performance

BANGKOK, Oct 7 (TNA) - Thailand will host an official reception for over 400 global financial leaders on Oct. 14, 2026, during the IMF-World Bank Group Annual Meetings in Bangkok, Government Spokesperson Ekkapob Pianpises said.
The official welcome dinner, set to take place at Government House, aims to promote Thailand's cultural heritage and soft power.
A key highlight of the event will be a musical performance by 16-year-old Thai singer Nene Royal, winner of America's Got Talent Season 21, who was invited as a special guest of Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul. The evening will also feature traditional performances by National Artists, the Sarokrau Symphony Orchestra, and a Joe Louis Puppet Theater show.
Guests will be served a four-course traditional Thai set menu featuring locally sourced ingredients, including tom yum goong and royal project brown rice.
National Security Council Secretary-General Gen. Chaipruek Duangprapat stated that comprehensive safety and emergency response plans have been implemented under the supervision of the Royal Thai Police, adding that intelligence reports currently show no indications of security concerns. -819 (TNA)
