MP Al Alawi presents strategic vision to develop Arab Parliamentary Scouting Federation

Kuwait, Oct. 7 (BNA): Bahrain’s Parliamentary Division has outlined a strategy to strengthen the Arab parliamentary scouting movement, with a focus on youth empowerment, volunteerism and community service.

The strategy was presented by MP Mohammed Jassim Al Alawi, head of the Bahraini delegation to the Scouting Conference, "The Scouting Movement Between Volunteerism and Economic Activity", held in Kuwait.

In a working paper entitled "Strategy for Developing the Arab Parliamentary Scouting Federation: Proposed Action Plan for 2027 - 2030", Al Alawi proposed a structured Arab programme linking parliamentary work with scouting and youth and children’s issues.

The proposed strategy focuses on five key areas: governance and management; legislation and public policy; youth participation and protection; capacity-building and communication; and partnerships and initiatives.  It also includes measures to strengthen institutional governance, expand youth participation, develop training programmes and knowledge-sharing mechanisms, and implement measurable community service projects.

Al Alawi also proposed that Bahrain host the 20th General Assembly of the Arab Parliamentary Scouting Federation, providing an opportunity to advance cooperation, exchange expertise and translate the federation’s development priorities into practical initiatives benefiting youth and volunteerism.

The delegation also reaffirmed Bahrain’s commitment to supporting young people and volunteer work, in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The Bahraini delegation comprised Al Alawi, MP Jalal Kazim Hassan and Shura Council member Redha Ibrahim Munfaredi.  It also highlighted the commitment of Ahmed bin Salman Al Muslim, Speaker of the Council of Representatives and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Bahraini Parliamentary Division, to strengthening Bahrain’s parliamentary engagement in Arab scouting forums.
