Founding Anniversary of Kangdong Hydro-power Construction Complex Marked
Pyongyang, October 10 (KCNA) -- The Kangdong Hydro-power Construction Complex in the DPRK marked its 80th founding anniversary.
The 80-year history of the complex is a history of glory embroidered with the warm love and benevolence of the peerlessly great men for the builders of hydro- power stations and a course of patriotism and loyalty consistent with the devoted and strenuous efforts of the officials and workers of the complex who have upheld the policy of the Workers' Party of Korea on electric power industry in practice.
President Kim Il Sung always paid deep attention to the construction of hydro-power stations, entrusted many construction projects to the complex and wisely led it to play a key role in developing the country's electric power industry.
Chairman Kim Jong Il visited various power stations under construction several times, giving strength and courage to the builders and placing high value on the complex when a project was successfully completed.
Thanks to the wise leadership of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, the proud tradition of loyalty and patriotism of the complex which supported the Party through the construction of large-sized power bases is being steadily carried forward.
Over the past years, the employees of the complex have contributed to increasing the country's electricity production by building large-sized hydro-power stations and performed labour feats in major projects.
A meeting was held on Oct. 9 to mark the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Kangdong Hydro-power Construction Complex.
