DPRK Mining Industry Sector Promotes Projects to Expand Capacities
Pyongyang, October 14 (KCNA) -- The mining industry sector in the DPRK is pressing ahead with the expansion of production capacities.
Officials of the Ministry of Mining Industry and relevant units set stage-by-stage goals for expanding the production capacities at mines and smelting works and have concentrated forces and means while giving precedence to the supply of materials.
The Hyesan Youth Mine is creating favorable conditions and environment for the development of deep pits, and the Unpha Mine has increased the production after securing electric cars and immersible pumps and finishing the repair of major equipment.
The December 5 Youth Mine laid a foundation for increased production by remodeling equipment and repairing the pond for leaching liquid in a short span of time.
The Yongyu Mine and other units, which produce phosphorus concentrates, improved the capacity of concentrators and technical indices of major equipment to open up a prospect for increasing mineral output.
The Munphyong Smeltery removed a vast amount of earth and completed the concrete placing and has stepped up the frame work to establish a sulfuric acid production line using low-concentration waste gas. It has also repaired and maintained the existing equipment responsibly to increase the quality of products.
The Manpho Smeltery, too, has conducted a mass technological innovation movement aimed at developing and applying the optimum operation method of the electrolytic cell and increasing the productivity. -0-
