M’sia Remains Committed To Strengthening Asean Security Cooperation
PUTRAJAYA, Oct 22 (Bernama) -- Malaysia remains committed to strengthening regional security cooperation through closer ties and mutual understanding among ASEAN member states to safeguard peace and stability in the region.
Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said strong relations among ASEAN member states were important not only at the negotiating table but also in fostering friendship and mutual understanding.
He said this was reflected at the 20th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Transnational Crime (AMMTC), which concluded in Makati City, the Philippines.
“In a more relaxed setting, I had the opportunity to mingle, exchange views and exchange souvenirs with my counterparts from ASEAN member states. Good relations are important not only at the negotiating table but also through friendship and mutual understanding among us.
“Insya-Allah, may the bonds of friendship and close cooperation among ASEAN countries continue to be strengthened for the peace and security of the region,” he said in a Facebook post Thursday.
